Below is a tentative calendar for 2017 — once candidates are accepted into the Diocesan Certificate in Lay Ministry process, regular communication and calendar updates will be provided, along with information for course enrollment. This calendar applies for new and continuing candidates. 

January 15-February 18, 2017 - VLCFF Cycle 1

January 28, 2017- Orientation Retreat for New Candidates; 9:30AM-3PM; Diocesan Pastoral Center, Scranton

February 11, 2017- Skills Workshop: “Tending to Self”; Lisa Rigau;                             9AM-4PM, Diocesan Pastoral Center, Scranton

March 3-4, 2017- Overnight Retreat for Candidates; Villa of Our Lady, Mount Pocono, PA

March 5-April 8, 2017 - VLCFF Cycle 2

May 13, 2017- Skills Workshop: “Putting the ‘Pastoral’ in Pastoral Ministry”; Fr. Paul Mullen & Fr. Joseph Evanko; 9AM-3PM, Holy Family Parish, Luzerne

April 23- May 13, 2017- VLCFF Cycle 3 (Seminars Only)

May 28-July 1, 2017 - VLCFF Cycle 4

June 6 and 12, 2017- Summer Evenings of Theological Reflection and Practicum Presentations (Candidates can choose either night to attend)

June 19, 2017- Commissioning Mass and Reception for Diocesan Certificate in Lay Ministry Practicum Candidates

June 25, 2017- World Refugee Day Celebration (Volunteer Opportunity)

July 16-August 19, 2017 - VLCFF Cycle 5

August7-11, 2017 – Catechist Camp (Locations TBA)

September 3-October 7, 2017 - VLCFF Cycle 6

September 16, 2017- Skills Workshop: “RCIA’s Witness, Community & Journey: The Model for Sacramental Preparation”; Fr. Bob Simon; 9AM-3PM, St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Moscow

October 22-November 25, 2017 – VLCFF Cycle 7

November 11, 2017- Skills Workshop “The Virtues of Christian Discipleship” Bernard Prusak; 9AM-3PM, St. John the Evangelist Parish, Pittston
